My Rose Garden

I can't stop photographing my roses!  I am amazed with how spectacular not only mine are, but how they look all around my neighborhood. What a year for roses it's been.

OK, I'll be honest, my husband's the one who does most of the work babying the roses.

And he's had a helper...

In fact, he's had a lot of help.  A couple of weeks ago was "bring your child to work" day, and since it's not really appropriate to have my children accompany me into someone's childbirth, my husband said they could accompany him.  I could hear the wheels turning in my firstborn's head, "Sweet!  Day off!  Sleep, video games."  So he quickly said that he would stay with his dad.  (The other two opted to go on to school.)  He had quite an awakening!  He found out just what Dad does around here...

Man work....

He cleaned out all my gutters!  He's such a good boy.  He had a little bit of an awakening, and when it was all over, he learned that hard work makes him feel good about himself.  He had a really good day.

Anyway, check out my "Mister Lincoln Rose."  It's bigger than my face!

And my "Dick Clark Rose."  It's my favorite out of the whole garden.

And my beautiful "Heirloom Rose."  She is beyond words...

And really, does anyone not fall into a sea of tranquility when they see a perfect "Peace Rose?"

If anyone has wondered if it's worth the money to buy one of those "Topsy Turvy" planters, I'll let you judge for yourself...(strawberry rhubarb crisp anyone?)

I have been very happy with my Topsy Turvy and I'm going to get one started for my tomatos here within a couple of days.

Thanks for letting me brag this morning!  I hope everyone is enjoying the beauty that the warm spring has brought us.  Enjoy your day.

Finally...News About The Job

Just wanted to update you on the job.  I got it.  As of May 6th, I am, once again, the Shift Specialty Coordinator for night shift.  That's just a fancy way of saying "Charge Nurse."  Leave it to my employer to come up with these names.

So, how do I feel?  Well,  I have 13 extra hours on the clock for this paycheck.  That's overtime.  That's bittersweet, my friend, bittersweet.  I'm tired, but 13 hours richer...and spent 13 hours less with my family.  But I am thankful for what God has given me and am anxious to see what His plans are.

Thanks, dear Husband, for putting up with my mood swings for the past month while I was going through this process.  Mood swings are bad.
